Long Time, No See

It's been a while since I've made a blog post (or rather, a while since I've had anything worth posting about). I found that I was doing a lot of talking about writing, and not enough actual writing. I'm glad to say that's changed, more on that soon.

If you follow me, you'll know I haven't been completely absent. Back in March I launched the Quill & Query Podcast with my wonderful co-host, A.M. Aycock, and we've been seeing slow but steady growth and enthusiastic viewership ever since. On the podcast we discuss all things reading, writing, and publishing, and occasionally we have guests on. If you're interested in listening, or possibly being a guest, you can find more info here: https://linktr.ee/quillandquery

It's been an amazing experience talking about our shared love of books with you all, and I look forward to seeing the podcast grow even more in the coming years.

But that's not all I've been working on.

As some of you know, we announced the Blades for Hire Anthology - a collection of dark fantasy mercenary stories - back in January, with a planned release of Summer 2024. Well, that proved just a little too ambitious, and we've had to make several delays to the release date to hit the quality bar we've set for ourselves (and avoid burning out).

That said, I'm happy to announce that the new and final release date for Blades for Hire is 02.02.2025. Be sure to follow me on social media for updates, as I will be posting about the anthology leading up to release on all my socials. You can find my announcement post on Instagram for more details.

Work on other stories continues. A Night of Knives is still being written and rewritten, and I have a few other short stories and novellas in the works as well that I can't wait to talk more about when the time is right. But for now, my focus is on getting Blades for Hire in your hands.

See you all soon. I promise I won’t keep you waiting as long this time.

~Brandon
