Current Projects & Tech Troubles

Happy Saturday everyone, hope you're all doing well and enjoying the weekend.

I have been better, myself. My laptop had to be sent in for repairs earlier this week and I don't anticipate I will have it back for the better part of a month, so I am looking into potential options to help me hit my daily writing goals. There are some excellent Chromebooks in stock - I might have to pick one of those up just to make sure I'm staying productive. Won't be good for running Baldur's Gate 3, unfortunately, but at least I'll be able to write.

Thankfully I backup all of my files so I have not lost any work, and though it's slow going I have been doing some daily writing from my phone with a small Bluetooth keyboard I bought recently. I'm just much more productive on a traditional laptop.

Anyway, moving on from my laptop predicament, today I wanted to talk a little bit about my current projects and what you should expect from me in the coming years.

My attention is currently focused on A Night of Knives, the first book of the Broken Faith Trilogy. This is a dark fantasy murder mystery story, and you can find a brief synopsis below:

The king lies dead, leaving his protector, Tharin, mired in guilt and uncertainty. The city's gates are barred until justice is served, turning the once bustling metropolis into a silent chessboard of treachery and hidden motives. Tharin, a man of honor and dedication, finds himself navigating a maze of deceit, where every noble, servant, and even family member of the court is a potential suspect. Will he unmask the perpetrator in time to avert the impending chaos, or will the murderer's insidious plans already be too far along to thwart? In this gripping tale of mystery and medieval politics, loyalty will be tested, truths will be questioned, and a protector's resolve will be put to the ultimate test.

I hope that got your attention. I am incredibly excited to start sharing details on this story. I have been meticulously outlining and writing for the past few months now, and am at the point where I can start providing regular progress updates. I am currently sitting at around 10% completion on the first draft, just to give you an idea of where things stand. At my current rate of progress I anticipate that this will be out sometime in the second half of 2024, barring any major delays. I will be sure to provide progress updates on a regular basis so you always know how close I am to completion and what to expect.

Beyond that, I have a Cyberpunk Duology in the works, as well as other projects that I am not ready to talk about just yet - but rest assured, you will hear about them in due time. I prefer to tackle these things one at a time, for now.

As we get closer to 2024, expect to hear more about A Night of Knives and the world of Broken Faith, including a cover reveal, excerpts, as well as potential crowdfunding campaign I am considering for a limited edition hardcover version.

Talk to you soon, happy reading.
